If there’s one band that will make even the most stone-faced person dance, it’s Kutapira.
The Vancouver-based, five person band is well known for its ability to fire up crowds and even start impromptu dance parties in the downtown streets! Kutapira combines Afro-Cuban rhythms, West African percussion and Zimbabwean marimbasto create a feeling like you’ve never felt before. The band consisting of Chris Couto, Sangito Bigelow, Kai Buchan, Jeremy Bryant and Theo Vincent has played in some amazing places, from the annual Shambhala Festival in BC to Balmoral Castle in Scotland and even invitationally for the Queen! They’ve traveled the world from Cuba to Zimbabwe and played in schools and festivals across Canada. Make sure to keep an eye out for Kutapira coming soon to a town near you.
